Pioneering the Path to Sustainable Future

A Carbon Accounting Specialist plays a key role in measuring, analyzing, and reporting an organization’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This role ensures compliance with climate regulations, supports corporate sustainability goals, and contributes to decarbonization strategies. The specialist works across industries, helping businesses track their carbon footprint, identify emission reduction opportunities, and align with global net-zero targets.

Measure and Quantify

Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions in line with the GHG Protocol.

Develop Carbon Inventories

and track corporate emissions performance

Ensure compliance with regulations

such as carbon reporting frameworks such as CDP, TCFD, SBTi, and CSRD..

Conduct Lifecycle Assessments (LCA)

to assess the environmental impact of products and operations.

Advise on Carbon Offset Strategies

and market-based mechanisms such as carbon credits and emissions trading..

Assists Organisations in Sustainability Disclosure

preparing sustainability reports and ESG disclosures and monitor climate regulations

Collaborate with cross-functional teams

to integrate carbon reduction initiatives into corporate sustainability strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or Finance.
  • Strong understanding of GHG accounting standards, including the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064.
  • Experience with carbon accounting software (e.g., Sphera, Persefoni, or Watershed).
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, including the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS), SEC Climate Disclosure Rules, and CBAM.
  • Ability to interpret climate risk assessments and net-zero transition plans.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
