The Solar Engineer designs, develops, and manages solar energy systems for both residential and commercial and large scale projects. They will play a critical role in advancing renewable energy adoption, optimizing energy efficiency, and minimizing environmental impact. This position requires a mix of technical expertise, innovative problem-solving, and a commitment to sustainable energy solutions. The Solar Engineer work closely with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Design and engineer solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for a range of applications
Conduct site assessments
Develop detailed technical specifications and layouts
Optimize PV systems
Oversee installation and commissioning processes
Conduct system performance analysis
Ensure compliance with local and international standards
Collaborate with procurement and construction
Background and Sectors
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A master’s degree or specific solar engineering certifications (e.g., NABCEP, SEI) are advantageous.
- Minimum 3-5 years in solar PV design and engineering, with proven experience in commercial or utility-scale solar projects.
- Professional engineering (PE) license, NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification, or similar credentials are highly desirable.
Driving Sustainable Growth in the Energy Sector
- Photovoltaic System Design: Proficiency in designing solar PV systems, including knowledge of modules, inverters, wiring, and mounting systems.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with design and simulation software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and HelioScope.
- Electrical Engineering Knowledge: Understanding of electrical principles, circuit design, and power systems relevant to solar energy.
- Project Management: Ability to manage timelines, resources, and costs effectively.
- Compliance and Standards: Familiarity with IEC, NEC, and regional codes and regulations applicable to solar installations.
