Assistant Director – ESG Due Diligence, Consulting, Dubai, UAE

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage ESG due diligence projects for clients across various industries, ensuring compliance with international ESG standards and regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of ESG risks and opportunities within investment portfolios, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Analyse and evaluate ESG performance and impact metrics of target companies, providing insights and recommendations to clients on ESG integration and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ESG frameworks, methodologies, and tools for due diligence assessments.
  • Stay updated on emerging ESG trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks, and provide strategic guidance to clients on sustainability best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert on ESG due diligence and sustainable investing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Studies, Sustainability, Finance) is required; advanced degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in ESG due diligence, sustainability consulting, or a related field, preferably within a consulting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of international ESG frameworks, such as PRI, SASB, and TCFD, and understanding of ESG risks and opportunities in various industries.
  • Solid understanding of financial and investment concepts and experience in assessing ESG factors within investment decision-making processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough ESG assessments, identify material issues, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong project management abilities, with the capability to handle multiple client engagements and deliver high-quality results within specified timelines.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ESG concepts and insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, CAIA, or ESG-specific certifications are advantageous
