Director ESG, London, UK

We are seeking for our client a dynamic Director of ESG/Sustainability to lead the implementation of the company’s ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with their global sustainability goals and best practices. This role is integral in embedding ESG initiatives throughout the client’s global operations and fostering a culture of sustainability across the business. The Director will collaborate closely with the Global Head of HR and other senior stakeholders to integrate ESG principles into the company’s processes and corporate culture.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the execution of ESG strategies outlined by corporate leadership, ensuring smooth integration of sustainability initiatives across global operations.
Oversee the implementation of ESG programs covering areas such as environmental sustainability, resource efficiency, diversity and inclusion, community outreach, and ethical practices.
Partner with internal teams like HR, R&D, and regional leadership to drive ESG goals and embed sustainability principles into business operations.
Manage ESG reporting to ensure alignment with global sustainability standards and compliance with local regulations.
Collect and analyze data to track ESG initiatives and provide key performance insights to HR leadership and corporate teams.
Develop and deliver training materials to educate employees on ESG policies, fostering a culture of sustainability across the company.
Assist in crafting content for sustainability reports, investor relations materials, and other communications regarding ESG performance.
Identify opportunities to enhance ESG initiatives based on industry trends and feedback from stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related fields (Advanced degrees or certifications in ESG or sustainability are a plus).
6+ years of experience in sustainability or ESG roles, with a focus on implementing and reporting ESG initiatives within multinational organizations.
Familiarity with ESG frameworks and regulations, particularly in manufacturing, technology, or industrial sectors.
Strong data analysis skills, with a focus on tracking and reporting ESG metrics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging both internal and external stakeholders.
Proven ability to manage multiple ESG projects simultaneously and deliver results in line with corporate objectives.
Professional certifications in ESG or sustainability are preferred.
