ESG Investment Director, Private Equity, Paris, France

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the firm’s ESG strategy, policies, and practices across the investment portfolio, ensuring alignment with global ESG frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Lead the integration of ESG considerations into the investment process, from due diligence to value creation, and collaborate with portfolio companies to drive sustainable business practices.
  • Conduct ESG assessments, identify material ESG risks and opportunities, and develop comprehensive action plans to enhance the ESG performance of portfolio companies.
  • Provide guidance and support to portfolio companies in developing and implementing sustainable growth strategies, including ESG reporting and target setting.
  • Stay abreast of ESG trends, regulatory developments, and emerging best practices in sustainable private equity, and advise on strategies to maximize value creation through ESG integration.
  • Foster strong relationships with investors, limited partners, and stakeholders, effectively communicating the firm’s ESG commitments and performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance ESG training, knowledge sharing, and reporting systems, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the firm’s ESG capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Sustainability, Business). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in ESG integration and sustainable investing within the private equity industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of global ESG frameworks, such as PRI, SASB, and UN SDGs, and their application in private equity investment processes.
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing ESG initiatives and driving sustainable value creation across portfolio companies.
  • Familiarity with ESG due diligence processes, ESG reporting standards, and regulatory requirements in the private equity context.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with investors, portfolio company management teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to ESG assessment and strategy development.
  • Passion for sustainability and impact investing, with a genuine commitment to driving positive environmental and social change.
  • Fluency in both English and French languages is required.
