Job Description

We are working with a leading renewable energy company at the forefront of creating innovative clean energy solutions. As part of their growth, they are looking for a skilled and motivated HSQE Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) standards throughout all phases of large-scale onshore renewable energy projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the success of ambitious renewable energy initiatives while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.

The HSQE Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations, effectively driving the company’s vision for sustainable energy. Job Responsibilities

Health & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local and international health and safety regulations, including project-specific safety plans and method statements (RAMS).
  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to proactively identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead safety briefings, training sessions, and toolbox talks to foster a strong safety culture within the team.
  • Investigate and report on any accidents or incidents, ensuring a thorough root cause analysis and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee permit-to-work systems and enforce safe working practices across the project site.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Develop and enforce a comprehensive quality management framework to meet industry standards and project requirements.
  • Coordinate regular quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with design specifications and contractual obligations.
  • Work alongside engineering and construction teams to ensure all works meet the highest technical and regulatory standards.

 

Environmental Management

  • Ensure adherence to environmental legislation and best practices throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Oversee the management of waste, pollution control, and biodiversity measures, promoting sustainable practices across all aspects of the project.
  • Monitor and report on the environmental impacts, carbon footprint, and overall sustainability efforts of the project.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, local authorities, and community stakeholders to ensure that environmental best practices are maintained.

 

Risk & Compliance Management

  • Maintain and update the project risk register, identifying key HSQE risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular HSQE audits and assessments, ensuring that corrective actions are effectively implemented.
  • Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless adherence to HSQE requirements.
  • Ensure all incident reports, safety records, and compliance documentation are up to date and readily accessible.

Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or Quality Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HSQE roles, preferably within the renewable energy sector, focusing on utility-scale projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in managing site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, with a strong focus on proactive safety and quality management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in HSQE reporting systems and project management software tools.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for site visits and inspections.

Base Salary for the Role
The salary for this role is $135,000 per annum, depending on experience.
