Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and driven Renewable Energy Consultant to join a top consultancy company in Seattle. As a consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advisory services across a range of renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for delivering in-depth technical assessments, due diligence, and feasibility studies for wind, solar, and storage technologies, ensuring successful project outcomes from both a technical and business perspective.

This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact by advising developers, investors, and project owners, contributing to the global transition to renewable energy. You will work in a dynamic environment, supporting clients through critical project phases and influencing the future of clean energy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical consultancy for renewable energy projects, focusing on wind, solar, and energy storage technologies.
  • Perform comprehensive due diligence, assessing the technical, financial, and environmental aspects of renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments, providing recommendations to ensure project success.
  • Review project designs, environmental compliance, permitting, and contract documentation, ensuring all elements meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, including due diligence, independent engineering evaluations, and project feasibility assessments.
  • Advise clients on the integration of renewable energy technologies, ensuring optimal system performance and cost efficiency.
  • Assist with the development and refinement of renewable energy strategies, helping clients optimise their portfolios and achieve sustainability goals.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and technology providers, serving as a trusted advisor in the renewable energy space.
  • Lead technical site visits to wind, solar, and storage projects at various stages, providing expert assessments and addressing technical concerns.
  • Travel up to 20% to provide on-site support and consultancy as required. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Renewable Energy, or a related field).
  • A minimum of 5 years of consultancy experience in renewable energy, with a focus on project design, development, or technical assessments.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, including wind, solar, and energy storage systems (BESS).
  • Proven expertise in conducting technical due diligence and feasibility studies for renewable energy projects.
  • Excellent report-writing skills, with experience preparing detailed technical documents for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, environmental compliance, and permitting processes in the renewable energy sector.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to clients and stakeholders.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP, EIT) are a plus but not required.
