Head of Sustainability, Insurance, Dubai, UAE

We are partnering with a leading insurance company in the Middle East. Our client seeks a dynamic and experienced Head of Sustainability to lead their sustainability agenda and drive responsible business practices. Join us in shaping the future of sustainability in the insurance sector and making a positive impact in the region.​

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the company’s sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with global sustainability frameworks and industry best practices.
  • Drive the integration of sustainability principles across all aspects of the business, from underwriting and risk management to product development and operations.
  • Identify and assess ESG risks and opportunities within the company’s operations and portfolio, and develop strategies to enhance sustainability performance.
  • Oversee sustainability reporting efforts, ensuring accurate and transparent communication of sustainability performance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation, implement sustainable practices, and foster a culture of sustainability within the organisation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices related to sustainability and ESG within the insurance industry.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, customers, and industry partners, to advance sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in leading sustainability initiatives within the insurance industry or related sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of global sustainability frameworks and reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with sustainability regulations and practices within the Middle East insurance market is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with senior management, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to sustainability analysis and decision-making.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and drive change at all levels of the organisation.
  • Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to driving positive environmental and social impact.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
