Job Description

A prestigious consultancy firm is seeking an experienced and driven Associate Director of Renewable Energy Procurement to join its highly dynamic team in Paris. This role offers the opportunity to lead the procurement strategy for major renewable energy projects, influencing global energy transitions. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead Procurement Strategy: Manage and lead procurement engagements for various renewable energy projects, ensuring optimal outcomes for clients while supporting sustainability goals across wind, solar, hydro, hydrogen, and other renewable energy technologies.
  • Develop Procurement Services: Spearhead the development and enhancement of renewable energy procurement services to meet client needs and market trends.
  • Business Development and Marketing: Drive business development efforts for renewable energy procurement, including identifying new business opportunities and overseeing the marketing of services.
  • Leadership and Team Development: Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and coaching to both your team and wider business functions. Focus on operational, service excellence, and people development objectives.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to strategic procurement and contract management initiatives, ensuring alignment with both client goals and environmental sustainability targets.
  • Client Collaboration: Work alongside clients to support their energy transition strategies and optimise procurement processes for renewable energy investments.

Qualifications

  • Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience in procurement management, supply chain strategy, and contract negotiations within the renewable energy sector. Experience in one or more technologies such as Wind, Solar, Hydro, Hydrogen, Energy from Waste, and Carbon Capture is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong expertise in end-to-end procurement processes, supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and project management, particularly in large-scale capital programmes.
  • Consulting Expertise: Experience in consultancy, either from a client, contractor, or professional services perspective, with a focus on responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement practices.
  • Education: A relevant degree in procurement, civil engineering, construction, or a related field. CIPS Level 4 or equivalent is preferred, or willingness to work towards this certification.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the renewable energy sector, regulatory frameworks, and key technologies shaping the energy transition globally.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead teams, coach talent, and foster a collaborative work environment that drives results across procurement, business growth, and sustainability goals.
