The Renewable Energy Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of renewable energy projects, such as solar, wind, hydropower, or battery storage systems. Key Responsibilities

Lead the conceptual and technical design of renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory and industry standards.

Manage project budgets, ensuring that all financial goals are met while optimizing cost-efficiency and securing funding through green finance mechanisms, such as power purchase agreements (PPAs) and green bonds.

The CSO develops a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the company’s vision and business objectives. This includes setting goals, defining key performance indicators (KPIs), and establishing a roadmap for sustainable growth.

Team Coordination
Oversee multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, legal advisors, and environmental consultants, to ensure smooth collaboration and efficient project delivery.

Regulatory Compliance
Ensure projects comply with all local, national, and international environmental regulations, permitting processes, and industry best practices, such as LEED or BREEAM certifications.

Team Coordination
Oversee multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, legal advisors, and environmental consultants, to ensure smooth collaboration and efficient project delivery.

Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including delays, budget overruns, environmental impact, and safety hazards.

Background and Sectors

  • Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or energy management is typically required, with a preference for advanced degrees such as a Master’s in Renewable Energy, Sustainable Engineering, or MBA in Energy Management.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in renewable energy project management, with demonstrated success in managing large-scale solar, wind, or hydropower projects.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED, or qualifications related to renewable energy technologies (e.g., NABCEP for solar energy) are highly valued.
