Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced ESG Consultant to join a leading global consultancy’s sustainable finance team in London. In this role, the consultant will be integral in driving forward the sustainable finance agenda, advising clients on integrating ESG principles into their financial strategies and helping to shape the future of sustainable finance on a global scale.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide expert guidance to financial institutions on integrating ESG principles into investment and lending decisions.
  • Conduct comprehensive ESG analysis of green, social, and sustainability-linked financial instruments, assisting clients in assessing their environmental, social, and governance performance.
  • Collaborate with global stakeholders to develop tailored sustainable finance solutions that align with client financial goals and ESG commitments.
  • Manage and nurture relationships with clients, offering ongoing advice and support on sustainable finance opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to the creation and enhancement of ESG frameworks, methodologies, and tools to ensure clients remain in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Engage in business development by identifying new sustainable finance opportunities and assisting with proposal and presentation creation.
  • Keep up-to-date with regulatory developments in sustainable finance, including the EU Taxonomy, SFDR, and Green Bond Principles, and advise clients on their implications.

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainable finance, ESG consulting, or a related field, with a comprehensive understanding of capital markets.
  • A degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, Law, or a related discipline. Additional certifications in sustainability or ESG are highly desirable.
  • Experience working with green bonds, social bonds, sustainability-linked loans, or other sustainable finance instruments.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise complex ESG data and apply it effectively to client solutions.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and deliver results within a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex ESG concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
