Finance Director

EnableGreen is proud to exclusively support a fast-growing clean energy company in the recruitment of a Finance Director to lead its financial operations and strategy in the renewable energy sector. Headquartered in London, the organisation is accelerating the UK’s transition to net zero through a diverse portfolio of wind, solar, and energy storage projects.

This senior leadership position offers a unique opportunity to influence financial planning, investment decisions, and long-term sustainability in a high-impact industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial expertise, a commercial mindset, and a genuine passion for supporting decarbonisation within the renewable energy sector.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Financial Leadership
    Develop and implement the company’s financial strategy to support expansion and performance across the renewable energy asset portfolio.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including cash flow modelling, forecasting, and strategic reporting to the executive team and board.
  • Capital Investment & Structuring
    Manage complex capital structures, including project finance, tax equity, joint ventures, and institutional partnerships to fund renewable energy developments.
  • Commercial Growth & M&A Support
    Assess the financial viability of acquisitions, partnerships, and market opportunities in line with corporate objectives and the evolving renewable energy landscape.
  • Risk & Compliance
    Oversee financial governance, ensure regulatory compliance, and support ESG-related financial reporting frameworks across all business units.

Qualifications

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent chartered finance qualification; MBA or MSc in Finance is advantageous.
  • At least 10 years of experience with senior financial leadership, preferably within the renewable energy sector or broader energy infrastructure industries.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project finance, FP&A, and capital raising for large-scale clean energy projects.
  • Familiarity with UK regulatory frameworks and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
  • Track record of strategic leadership and stakeholder engagement at the board level.
  • Passionate about sustainability and the economic drivers behind the energy transition.
