We are Hiring a Global Sustainability Manager for a UK Vision and Consumer Care Company.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with 4-5 years of experience in sustainability, especially within the FMCG or healthcare industries.

In the Global Sustainability Manager role, you will align the company’s sustainability strategy with group objectives and embed sustainability practices into core business operations. You will be pivotal in driving supply chain sustainability, ensuring compliance for new eyecare products, and managing the supply chain’s and consumer packaging’s sustainability.

Job Responsibilities

The Global Sustainability Manager will:

  • Ensure consumer eyecare products are as sustainable as possible by developing and implementing a robust sustainability strategy.
  • Develop, plan, and implement the sustainability roadmap for consumer eyecare products.
  • Play a pivotal role in planning and implementing product and technology initiatives.
  • Establish a sustainable and responsible supply chain.
  • Lead engagement with key stakeholders on sustainability initiatives.
  • Align the strategy with corporate and customer sustainability goals.
  • Support product launches (lens, screen cleaning, and eye care range) to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to sustainability strategies.
  • Contribute to supplier development for responsible and sustainable sourcing.
  • Manage external regulatory and technology consultants/partners to complement internal expertise.

  • Ensure products are as sustainable as possible.
  • Ensure compliance with sustainability regulations across all markets.
  • Serve as the custodian of sustainability information, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and auditable.
  • Provide technical support to procurement teams.
  • Ensure suppliers uphold their sustainability and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Candidate Must-Have:
    • Degree in Sciences & Technology or Engineering (STEM) or relevant subject.
    • 4-5 years of experience in a sustainability-focused role, with a proven track record of delivering outcomes.
    • Experience in the consumer-packaged goods or healthcare industry with transferable skills.
    • Familiarity with highly regulated environments.
    • Experience collaborating with external regulatory agencies and suppliers.
    • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to travel internationally (US/Asia/Europe).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
    • An inquisitive mindset and interest in staying updated on sustainability initiatives.
    • Strong analytical and data-focused approach.

    Desirable:

    • At least 3 years’ experience in a highly regulated environment.
    • Technical qualification in sustainability.
    • Experience in packaging development.
