Job Description

An international renewable energy developer and advisory consultancy is seeking an Energy Storage Specialist to join its Amsterdam-based team in the Netherlands. The company operates at the forefront of clean energy transformation, partnering with developers, utilities, and investors to deliver innovative solutions that accelerate the integration of renewable power into modern grids.

The successful candidate will focus on the development and deployment of advanced battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. This role combines technical expertise with client-facing responsibilities, offering the opportunity to influence energy transition strategies while working within a purpose-driven organisation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical input into the design, modelling, and delivery of energy storage projects across utility-scale and hybrid renewable applications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and techno-economic assessments for storage integration.
  • Collaborate with grid operators to ensure compliance with connection standards and optimise project performance.
  • Support clients on regulatory, commercial, and technical aspects of energy storage deployment.
  • Lead or contribute to project teams, ensuring delivery within quality, time, and budget parameters.
  • Develop internal tools, methodologies, and best practices to strengthen the organisation’s technical offering.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the company in stakeholder discussions, workshops, and industry forums.
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives in flexibility markets, smart grids, and ancillary services.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in energy storage, power systems, or renewable energy consultancy.
  • Strong knowledge of energy storage technologies, applications, and European regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with power system simulation tools such as PSS®E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or PSCAD.
  • Proven ability to manage technical projects and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client engagement skills and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • Flexibility to travel within the Netherlands and across Europe as project demands require.
  • Commitment to sustainability and advancing the global energy transition.
