We are seeking a seasoned PPA Originator to join a recognised leader in the UK renewable energy market. This company delivers innovative clean power solutions to businesses committed to decarbonising their operations. With a rapidly growing portfolio of solar, wind, and hybrid assets, they collaborate with organisations to structure impactful long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) that drive net-zero progress. As the demand for corporate clean energy solutions accelerates, this role will be central to supporting the company’s ambitious commercial expansion.

As a PPA Originator, you will be pivotal in shaping and executing the company’s strategic approach to corporate decarbonisation. Your key responsibilities will revolve around securing and managing large-scale PPA deals with corporate and industrial clients, specifically targeting opportunities that align with both business and sustainability goals. This role requires someone with an in-depth understanding of the clean energy market and a proven track record in corporate procurement strategies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute innovative strategies to identify new business opportunities and secure long-term PPAs, focusing on sectors with high decarbonisation potential such as manufacturing, tech, and retail.
  • Continuously monitor energy market developments, including regulatory shifts, power pricing models, and technological innovations, to inform decision-making.
  • Work closely with corporate clients to create tailored energy procurement strategies that align with their carbon reduction targets while ensuring competitive pricing and risk mitigation.
  • Take charge of structuring and negotiating complex PPA contracts, engaging legal, financial, and technical teams to ensure agreement finalisation.|
  • Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers at the C-suite and senior leadership levels, guiding them through the PPA process to secure long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Work alongside internal teams such as finance, legal, and regulatory affairs to deliver seamless contract execution and ensure compliance with all energy regulations and policies.
  • Actively engage in industry events and networking activities to raise the company’s profile, generate leads, and stay ahead of market trends.

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of experience originating corporate PPAs or structuring corporate energy procurement solutions in the renewable energy sector.
  • In-depth understanding of UK and international power markets, including regulatory frameworks, energy pricing models, and sustainability trends.
  •  Demonstrable experience negotiating and structuring high-value energy contracts, with the ability to manage legal and financial risks.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in market analysis, financial modelling, and structuring contracts with a focus on long-term sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, though equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
