Sustainable Finance Regulation Director, Financial Services, London, UK

We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation in London. Our client is seeking an experienced Sustainable Finance Regulation Director to join their team based in London. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of sustainable finance regulations and play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s sustainable finance strategy.​

Job Responsibilities

  • Stay abreast of global sustainable finance regulations and frameworks, such as the EU Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), Green Finance Strategy, and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
  • Monitor regulatory developments and provide expert advice to senior management on the impact of sustainable finance regulations on the organisation’s operations, products, and services.
  • Develop and implement the organisation’s sustainable finance strategy and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate sustainable finance principles into business practices, product development, and investment strategies.
  • Lead engagement with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other relevant stakeholders to influence sustainable finance policy discussions and advocate for the organisation’s interests.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on sustainable finance regulations, disclosure requirements, and ESG integration best practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging sustainable finance trends, market practices, and technological advancements, and assess their relevance to the organisation’s sustainable finance initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Sustainability). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in sustainable finance regulation, policy, or related fields, ideally within the financial services sector.
  • Strong knowledge of global sustainable finance regulations, frameworks, and standards, such as SFDR, TCFD, and EU Taxonomy Regulation.
  • Familiarity with financial products and services, investment strategies, and ESG integration practices.
  • Excellent understanding of the broader sustainable finance landscape, including green bonds, impact investing, and sustainable investment strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and assess the impact of regulatory requirements on the organization’s operations.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capability to drive sustainable finance initiatives, collaborate across teams, and influence decision-making processes.
  • Experience in engaging with regulatory bodies and industry associations on sustainable finance matters is highly desirable.
