ESG Manager – Global Consulting Firm, Paris, France

Job Responsibilities

  • Design tailored ESG strategies that align with client goals, sector-specific challenges, and global sustainability frameworks.
  • Guide clients through the transformation process, embedding ESG principles into business models, operations, and governance structures.
  • Ensure clients meet ESG regulations and frameworks, such as CSRD, SFDR, EU Taxonomy, and other relevant standards.
  • Conduct materiality assessments, stakeholder mapping, and benchmarking to inform ESG roadmaps, KPIs, and action plans.
  • Build internal awareness of ESG issues, providing training and workshops to leadership teams and employees, and ensuring successful implementation of sustainability initiatives.
  • Lead small project teams and collaborate with senior leaders to shape purpose-driven business frameworks, supporting the firm’s wider vision for sustainability.
  • Contribute to the firm’s visibility through thought leadership, content creation, and participation in industry events.
  • Assist in the growth of the ESG practice by identifying new opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and developing internal initiatives.

What We are Looking For

We are looking for an ESG Manager who brings both strategic insight and a passion for sustainable business practices. You should thrive in a dynamic, client-focused environment and be capable of leading complex projects while fostering collaboration across diverse teams.

  • 5-7 years of experience in ESG, CSR, or sustainability consulting, ideally with a global or boutique consulting firm
  • A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Strategy, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of ESG frameworks, including CSRD, SFDR, and EU Taxonomy, and an understanding of their implications for businesses in Europe.
  • Proven experience in client management, from project scoping to delivery, and a solid track record of engaging with senior executives.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using materiality tools, defining KPIs, and supporting reporting processes.
  • Fluent in French and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Experience with change management and the ability to guide organisations through transformation processes.
  • Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities, and supporting a collaborative team culture.
