Sustainable Finance Director, Banking, London, UK

Job Responsibilities

As the Sustainable Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the bank’s sustainability agenda and ensuring the achievement of target sustainable finance revenues for Europe. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Lead and execute the sustainable finance strategy for the EMEA region, aligning it with the bank’s global sustainability goals.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients at a senior level to drive deep and focused strategic conversations around sustainability and sustainable finance solutions.
  • Revenue Generation: Develop and implement initiatives to meet or exceed target sustainable finance revenues for Continental Europe.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, peers, market participants, government bodies, and sustainability organizations.
  • Product Development: Contribute to the development of innovative sustainable finance products and solutions that meet the evolving needs of clients.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, ESG regulations, and market dynamics to provide strategic insights to the bank.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage sustainability-related risks in client engagements and transactions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver reports on sustainable finance activities and achievements to senior management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience in sustainable finance, investment banking, or a related field, with a strong track record of success.
  • In-depth knowledge of ESG principles, sustainable finance products, and market trends.
  • Excellent understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements related to sustainable finance.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior-level clients and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in other European languages is a plus.
