Head of Origination and Execution – Renewable Energy, Investment Platform, London, UK

Our client is a leading investment platform specialising in the late-stage development and construction of renewable energy generation projects and assets across the UK, Ireland, and Europe. With a strong track record of successful investments, they are committed to driving the transition to clean energy and sustainable infrastructure. As the Head of Origination and Execution – Renewable Energy, you will play a critical role in leading the origination and execution of renewable energy projects within the investment platform. Leveraging your expertise in project finance, development, and execution, you will identify investment opportunities, assess project viability, and oversee the successful execution of transactions.

Job Responsibilities

Lead the origination of renewable energy investment opportunities across the UK, Ireland, and Europe, with a focus on late-stage development and construction projects.
Build and maintain relationships with developers, project sponsors, utilities, and other key stakeholders to source high-quality investment opportunities.
Conduct thorough due diligence on potential projects, including financial analysis, risk assessment, and technical evaluation.
Negotiate and structure investment agreements, ensuring alignment with investment objectives and risk-return profiles.
Manage the execution of investment transactions, including legal documentation, financing arrangements, and project closing activities.
Collaborate with internal teams, including investment, legal, finance, and operations, to drive successful project execution and delivery.
Monitor project performance and manage ongoing relationships with project partners to ensure investment objectives are met.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
8-10 years minimum proven track record of success in origination and execution roles within the renewable energy sector, with experience in project finance, development, and investment.
Strong network within the renewable energy industry, including developers, investors, and industry associations.
Excellent financial modeling, valuation, and investment analysis skills.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex transactions from origination through execution to closure.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Flexibility to travel as needed for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
