Head of Legal & Compliance, Renewable Energy, Private Equity, Dubai, UAE

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the legal and compliance functions within the Renewable Energy division, ensuring alignment with the firm’s goals and values.
  • Provide expert legal guidance on renewable energy projects, transactions, contracts, and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
  • Develop and implement compliance programs, policies, and procedures tailored to the renewable energy sector.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the firm’s operations and investments.
  • Oversee due diligence processes for renewable energy projects and investments.
  • Represent the firm in negotiations, legal proceedings, and interactions with regulatory authorities.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethical conduct throughout the organisation.

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution.
  • Admitted to the bar in the UAE or a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in legal and compliance roles within the renewable energy and private equity sectors.
  • Strong understanding of renewable energy regulations, contracts, and project financing.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a legal team.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
