Environmental Manager, The Hague, Netherlands

Job Responsibilities

As a Sustainability and Environmental Manager, you will be a key player in their mission to drive the organization’s Sustainability strategy and implement and monitor environmental policy and practices. You will work closely with the HSE, Finance and Operation teams to implement the environmental policy, assess their current environmental impact, develop sustainable strategies, and implement carbon emissions reduction initiatives and ESG reporting.​

  • Environmental Policy and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of the current environmental practices, identifying areas for improvement and carbon emissions reduction and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 requirements
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with other functions and senior management to develop tailored sustainability strategies that align with their business goals while minimizing environmental impact.
  • Implementation: Coordinate and implement sustainability initiatives, tracking progress, reporting and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse environmental data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for further sustainability improvements.​
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on sustainability and environmental impact reduction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering or a related field
  • More than 5 years proven experience in environmental impact assessment, carbon emissions reduction in an industrial environment
  • Deep knowledge of environmental sustainability practices, carbon accounting, and emissions reduction strategies
  • ESG Reporting Skills, including ISO 14001 experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with other teams
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental responsibility
  • Speak English and Dutch fluently
