Sustainability Supply Chain Manager, Construction, Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are partnering with a prominent construction firm specialising in sustainable building projects. Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Sustainability Supply Chain Manager to join their team in Abu Dhabi. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of sustainable supply chain practices in the construction industry and drive positive environmental and social impact.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and implement the company’s sustainability supply chain strategy, ensuring alignment with global sustainability frameworks and industry best practices.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and subcontractors to integrate sustainability principles throughout the construction supply chain.
Assess supplier sustainability performance, conduct audits, and implement sustainable sourcing practices to drive responsible and ethical supply chain management.
Identify environmental and social risks within the supply chain and develop robust mitigation strategies to enhance sustainability performance.
Promote transparency and traceability in the supply chain, working with suppliers to improve reporting and environmental impact assessments.
Stay updated on emerging sustainable materials and technologies, and provide guidance on incorporating these into procurement decisions and construction projects.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to sustainable construction practices, such as green building certifications and energy-efficient design.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Construction, Engineering). Advanced degree preferred.
Extensive experience in supply chain management within the construction industry, with a focus on sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.
Strong knowledge of global sustainability frameworks and reporting standards (e.g., GRI, LEED, ISO 14001).
Familiarity with sustainability regulations and practices in the UAE construction industry is highly desirable.
Excellent understanding of sustainable materials, green building certifications, and energy-efficient design principles.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and assess environmental and social risks within the supply chain.
Proven project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive change across the organisation.
Passion for sustainability and a genuine commitment to driving positive environmental and social impact in the construction industry.
