Job Description

Join a forward-thinking renewable energy team as a Senior Engineer – Energy Storage in Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the transition to a low-carbon energy future. As a Senior Engineer, you will contribute to the development and integration of cutting-edge energy storage technologies into renewable energy systems, enabling enhanced grid resilience, energy efficiency, and sustainability. This role involves both technical expertise and leadership, offering the chance to work on impactful projects that advance the global energy transition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, integration, and implementation of energy storage systems for renewable energy projects, including grid-scale and off-grid applications.
  • Work with technology vendors to evaluate and select energy storage technologies that meet the specific needs and use cases of clients.
  • Provide technical leadership and direction in the development of energy storage solutions, from conceptual planning through to implementation and commissioning.
  • Perform detailed techno-economic analyses to assess the feasibility and business case for energy storage solutions in various applications, such as peak load management and grid stability.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical, mechanical, civil, and structural engineers, to deliver integrated renewable energy and energy storage projects.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, business development efforts, and client relationships, positioning the company as a leader in the energy storage sector.
  • Stay at the forefront of industry trends, contributing to thought leadership through engagement in professional forums, conferences, and technical papers
  • Support the integration of energy storage with other renewable energy systems, including solar, wind, and microgrids, ensuring seamless system functionality and performance.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support project delivery and client engagements as required.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Engineering (Electrical, Chemical, Systems, or related field).
  • A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in the energy or power sector, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in energy storage.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) status or the ability to obtain it is highly desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of energy storage technologies and their integration into renewable energy systems.
  • Experience in the design, engineering, and deployment of energy storage systems, including integration with grid infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with energy storage modelling tools such as Homer Pro, PVsyst, PSSE, and PSCAD.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform complex techno-economic analyses.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and work within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent client engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with power system studies, microgrid design, and renewable power systems integration is highly desirable.
