Our client is seeking a visionary and experienced Chief Sustainability Officer to lead their sustainability agenda and drive transformative change across the organisation. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with global frameworks, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Drive the integration of sustainability principles and ESG considerations into all aspects of the organisation’s operations, including investment decision-making, risk management, and corporate governance.
  • Lead the establishment of clear sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives, monitoring progress and reporting on sustainability performance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative sustainable financial products and services that address environmental, social, and governance challenges.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and cultivate strong relationships with clients, investors, regulators, and community organisations to advance sustainable finance initiatives.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainable finance, and provide strategic guidance to maintain the organisation’s leadership position.
  • Develop and lead sustainability training and awareness programs to promote a culture of sustainability throughout the organisation.
  • Act as a thought leader on sustainability issues, representing the organisation at industry conferences, events, and sustainability forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Sustainability, Business). Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role driving sustainability initiatives within the financial services industry.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainable finance frameworks, regulations (e.g., SFDR, TCFD), and relevant ESG metrics.
  • Strong understanding of climate change, social impact, and other sustainability challenges the financial services sector faces.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with clients, investors, and regulators on sustainability-related matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute sustainable finance strategies, drive change, and deliver measurable results.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate ESG risks and opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to foster a culture of sustainability, mentor teams, and drive collaboration.
