Director of Sustainability, Banking, London, UK

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute and improve the company’s sustainability strategy in alignment with global best practices and industry standards.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into the organization’s operations, investments, and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize sustainability goals and objectives, and track progress towards achieving them.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, NGOs, and industry peers, to advance sustainability efforts and enhance the company’s reputation.
  • Oversee the implementation of sustainability reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate and transparent disclosure of ESG performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG, or related areas, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing sustainability strategies, initiatives, and programs.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities, including experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.
