ESG Products Specialist, Asset Manager, London, UK

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on ESG integration and sustainable investing, staying up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including portfolio management, research, and sales, to develop and enhance ESG investment strategies and products across various asset classes.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of ESG data, ratings, and research to inform investment decision-making and portfolio construction processes.
  • Support the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with client needs, regulatory requirements, and internal ESG frameworks.
  • Work closely with sales and client servicing teams to educate clients and provide ESG expertise, participating in client presentations, due diligence meetings, and industry conferences.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to create compelling ESG-focused materials, including pitch books, thought leadership pieces, and ESG reporting.
  • Stay abreast of emerging ESG standards, methodologies, and disclosure frameworks, providing recommendations on their integration into the organisation’s ESG processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Finance, Economics, Sustainability, etc.) is required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, etc.) is preferred.
  • ​Extensive experience in ESG investing, sustainable finance, or responsible investment within the asset management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG data providers, rating agencies, and ESG research methodologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of various ESG investment approaches and frameworks (e.g., integration, impact investing, thematic investing).
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyse ESG data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable investment strategies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ESG concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in ESG-related tools and platforms, such as Bloomberg, MSCI ESG, Sustainalytics, or similar.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Passion for sustainability, ESG integration, and making a positive impact through responsible investing.
