Solar PV Project Manager – Manchester, UK

We are partnering with a prominent Solar PV Installer firm based in Manchester, UK, that is at the forefront of advancing sustainability and clean energy within the industrial sector. To further their mission of embedding renewable energy solutions into their operational framework, they are seeking a dedicated and experienced Solar PV Project Manager.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong expertise as a Solar PV Project Manager, possess a thorough understanding of renewable energy systems, and share a deep commitment to advancing sustainability within manufacturing environments.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end project lifecycle of solar PV installations, from initial assessment and feasibility through design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Ensure all solar PV projects comply with relevant UK regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Coordinate closely with clients, internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and safety protocols.
  • Implement sustainable practices and optimise energy efficiency throughout the installation processes.
  • Monitor and report on project performance metrics, regulatory compliance. Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring proactive compliance management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Solar PV Project Manager, with atleast 3-5 years ideally in solar PV installation firms or similar sectors.
  • Relevant technical or engineering qualification (degree or equivalent), such as Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks, including planning permissions, grid connections, and health and safety regulations (e.g., SMSTS, CDM, IOSH certification beneficial).
  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and scopes effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach, with excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly within the UK; a valid UK driving licence is required.
